As Pastor Cathy has departed from UEC to answer her next call in Chaplaincy at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, we have released her, in love, to her new chapter in life. As we transition into new seasons at UEC, we will soon receive an interim pastor who will lead us through pastoral transition as we scout for our next settled pastor. UEC welcomes all, in loving embrace and warmly invites you into the arms of our church family to venture with us into new waters of Christ's ministry at our church.
Rev. Cathy has left us with parting words of encouragement as we carry the love of Christ forward in our lives, communities, and the world at large:
"In Spain, as Christians climb tough terrain on a pilgrimage to a Holy site, they encourage one another by shouting 'Ultreya.' This means “onward and upward” in Spanish. As we begin our journey of venturing down different paths, let us hold before us the words of Paul’s 2nd letter to the Corinthians, chapter 4, verse 1. “Since it is by God’s mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart.”
In Christ’s love,
Rev. Cathy
